On the 4th of July 2022, a wonderful Monday morning, around 12:05 am, while all team members were very much asleep, our ever-zealous team leader dropped the task for the week. Our next set of deliverables. Guess what it was? Do not stress so much, I will tell you.

“Choose a small brand and develop a go-to-market strategy with action points. This should include other plans like social media strategy, content, and email marketing campaigns with Sendinblue or Omnisend”.

I know what you are thinking, we all did too in the workspace. What exactly is Sendinblue or Omnisend? That was what kept on ringing in our minds.

photo_2022-07-09_09-35-23.jpg For clarification on our task, the team lead set a meeting for 5 pm just so we could start working on our tasks.

photo_2022-07-09_09-35-19.jpg Fast forward to the meeting, we all joined the meeting and we finally got the point of Omnisend and Sendinblue. It is an email platform like MailChimp which is used for email campaigns.

Relieved, aren’t you? So we were. The next incident was interesting and funny. Prior to the meeting, our team lead had instructed us to research small brands to work with but when she asked what small brand we had come up with, It took decades for replies to roll in (exaggerating).

We kept trying to think of any small brand and the team lead told us we would sleep on the call if we could not. She got tired, we all did but decided to reconvene at 10 pm, it was all good for all of us and we agreed to it. The call ended.

photo_2022-07-09_09-35-27.jpg A few minutes after the call, at 6:09-6:11 pm, two members of the team proposed looking into small brands that they had discovered (Felsteve and Biostatseasy).

At 6:17 pm, our team lead did something not really surprising. It is two weeks to the end of our Bootcamp, our team lead has always made sure we really understood what our task for every week was and this week was not an exclusion. She sent in photos from Coursera letting us understand what a go-to-market strategy was and how to create it. This week there is fire even from the first day right? It is not the end.

photo_2022-07-09_09-35-32.jpg Next is the 10 pm meeting, attendance was low because a lot of us were sleeping. Thank God for after-call insights which our team lead never misses. She always makes sure it is pinned too on the workspace so no one misses it.

During the call though, four brands finally got selected which we had to look into. The brands: Mimopads, BeNaya, B&A group luxury home, and Opoto design. And this is where the hash node documentation all started. This is all day one.

We mueve!

Day two, a Tuesday

A meeting was scheduled for 6 pm, to talk about the brand proposal. Most of the team members didn't turn up for the meeting, it was only the team lead and two others, in fact, the third person had network issues.

The conclusion of the call was to write a proposal to the above brands on what we intend to do. The team leader went further by saying it would be great if we can work with them after proposing our work so it can actually go live and be tested (approved by our amiable task master).

Then, she proceeded to allocate tasks on Wednesday. Our goals, metrics, and sales target were to be in a graph and we were advised to check templates so we could understand our tasks better.

photo_2022-07-09_21-06-47.jpg Our conclusion was to draft a go-to-market strategy for a fashion brand. BeNaya is the fashion brand we were to draft our go-to-market strategy for and we sent a proposal to them but still expecting feedback. A fashion brand was chosen because it gives us more leverage with content creation and Email newsletters.

photo_2022-07-09_21-06-43.jpg While waiting for feedback, our backup plan was to make a draft, so that we can have something to show. In case they didn't respond in time, our plan was to create campaigns using our account but not send them to the brand. Just like the way we did for the PiggyVest (our first-week project).

Our co-operative team lead, though also added that we should all collaborate together to make our task successful. She told us to chat up with whomever we were assigned tasks so we could maximize time and give results.

A 6 pm meeting was later scheduled for the task. Before the call, members of the team were heeding the instruction of the team lead and hitting up their partners for the tasks they were given.

Our team lead also shared the go-to-market strategy document so we could go through it and input whatever we had to input. Time for the call. Our team lead had some issues with her internet connection so the meeting was brief and cut short. But she told us that whatever questions or contributions we have, we should message her directly. She then said we could discuss the marketing strategy via our slack channel.

Some of us were tired, but our team lead energy kept us going. Get yourself a team lead like ours!

Thursday, hmmm I can't believe we are here. Anyways, Thursday was not so much of a big deal since everyone was working incognito and our team lead had a lot on her calendar so the workspace was silent. Guess what, It was the only day we did not have a meeting since our tasks were assigned to us.

Relief right? lol

Friday people!

On Fridays, people turn up so well because they want to rest on the weekends. You all know how it is. But this time around, people are turning up on Friday so they can enjoy the holidays. Sallah is a Muslim holiday celebration in Nigeria that gives a lot of vibes. I know you get my point of turning up, but I guess it needs to be more detailed. Submissions of tasks are rolling in guys and it is beautiful.

Our team lead was so happy and content. Editing and cross-checking and addition of things are in progress because of our plan to submit on Saturday and it does seem very realistic. No meetings were held.

Saturday, all hands on deck, all things completed and ready to be submitted to Side Hustle and I would say that this week has been the most beautiful and collaborative week since it all started. Hash node also going up today.

We are off to go enjoy the holiday, at least rest before next week's tasks. Till we meet again next week. Have a wonderful weekend and Holiday. Shout out to all team members on portfolio digital marketing team 11.
